IT IS A PLEASURE TO HOST YOU ON OUR SITE. YOUR LIFE ON THE BICYCLE MOVES PERFECTLY WITH OUR PHILOSOPHY. COULD YOU TALK TO US ABOUT WHAT PUSHED YOU TOWARDS TWO WHEEL PEDALS?

It all started because of a... girl!
I had fallen in love with a girl who went to the school next door. But I couldn't see her before lessons if I took the bus to get to school, because it arrived late and once I got off I had to run to class.
The bicycle, on the other hand, gave me the opportunity to be independent from the bus timetable, so I could see this girl before lessons. Of course, I had to do 8km there and back and I wasn't even too trained, but it was also an opportunity to lose a little weight, with the hope of having a better physique and having an extra weapon to impress this girl.
Then it didn't go well with her because she friendzoned me but... the passion for cycling remained! And since then I have used it not only to go to school but also to go to work and to start travelling.

WHAT WAS THE MOST EXCITING BICYCLE TRIP YOU HAVE TAKEN?

Every bike trip has its own particular story and it's difficult to choose! But when I think back to the trip I took in August 2018 from my home to Paris, it was perhaps one of the most exciting experiences of my life.

I visited beautiful cities: Lucerne, Stein Am Rhein, Basel, Colmar, Strasbourg, Koblenz, Metz, Reims,…

And I cycled along unique routes: rute du Vins, Rhine cycle path, Moselle cycle path, rute du champagne,…

And while I am writing about these places I see them as if printed in my eyes. Because the beauty of traveling by bicycle is that it doesn't just allow you to visit places, but to travel around them.

The exciting thing about this trip was precisely this: traveling through beautiful places on my trusty bicycle.

HAVE YOU EVER FOUND YOURSELF IN A COMPLICATED SITUATION THAT MADE YOU DOUBT ABOUT CONTINUING TRAVELING BY BIKE OR OTHERWISE PUT YOU TO A HARD TEST?

I find it difficult to find a complicated or difficult situation in my bicycle travel experience. One nice thing I've noticed when talking to other bike travelers is that we find it difficult to remember unpleasant episodes of the trip. Living on the streets we are used to accepting everything that happens to us as it comes.

If I really had to choose one, perhaps I would say when I risked breaking my chain in the middle of nowhere in Morocco! I broke one of the links of the chain, the sun had already set and I still had 20km to go in the middle of nowhere and uphill to get to Chefchaouen, the famous blue city in the High Atlas.

In short, it wasn't exactly a pleasant situation, but in the end I managed to reach my goal! This has changed my way of organizing the trip, always checking my means of transport carefully before leaving for an adventure on the road

WHAT DO YOU DO TO MAKE YOUR LIFE MORE ECOLOGICAL BESIDES RIDING BY BICYCLE?

I also like cycling because of the smaller impact on the environment. It's a small gesture that if everyone who could did it, our cities would surely come out changed for the better!

I follow this philosophy when I try to live a more ecological life, that is, I do small things that we could all do, such as: saving water when I shower or wash, not turning on the lights if it is not essential, eating seasonal fruit and vegetables, buying unpackaged food when possible, using apps like "TooGoodToGo" to buy recycled food.

A small effort from everyone would be enough and I am convinced that with these small gestures the world can truly become a better place!
