Barillo's tree (Calophyllum brasiliense) is part of the Calophyllacaceae family. It is native to the subtropical and tropical regions of Mexico, Central America, South America and the Caribbean. The leaf is used as a medicine for ulcer and gastritis, prostate damage, sunburn. The extracted oil is used in cosmetics and dermatology (Tamanu Oil) to cleanse the skin, fight wrinkles and treat the skin after tattoos.
