My name is Alessandro Castagna, I was born in Verona in 1964 and I have always had a great passion for travel. When I was young I would go off and visit a country when I could, even when finances were poor and I knew the trip wouldn't be the most comfortable.
But passion was passion, and I always set off towards new destinations as soon as I had scraped together enough to buy a ticket.
The idea of creating the site (which later turned into a newspaper) I want to live like this it was born while travelling. In every town or city I visited I met some Italian who had abandoned the beautiful country and had "reinvented" himself.
Hence the idea of creating a magazine where they can tell their stories, often beautiful and compelling.
The growing opportunities to work remotely, the dream of exotic destinations, of a lifetime simpler or cheaper is pushing more and more Italians abroad. How have you seen this phenomenon change in the last 10 years?
The change was significant. When the magazine was born we mainly told stories of those who wanted to get back into the game or who perhaps wanted to leave a stressful and unrewarding life in Italy.
In recent years, thanks to the digitalisation of the economy, we have increasingly been telling stories of digital nomads. Workers who, thanks to new technologies, can live and work anywhere.
Let's remember, to do this you need appropriate skills and a spirit of adventure. Change implies adaptation. And the first thing that
we must ask ourselves before embarking on a new path whether we are ready to face new challenges.

There are three places I fell in love with. Lanzarote (Canary Islands), green Ireland and Menorca (where I live).

What do you do to make your life greener?
I focus on the little things. On everything that, although minimal, can contribute to reducing the impact on the ecosystem to a minimum. Be careful not to waste water, don't keep the heating on longer than necessary, use the machine sparingly, use separate waste collection.
