Francesca and tourist psychology
An only child, a graduate of Sapienza University, Francesca worked for eight years in a large company until something changed. Traveling alone it is the blog that was born from this change, a help and an incentive for those who want to get involved.
Hi Francesca, welcome to Easy Travel Hosting! Traveling alone, your site and your creation, could you tell us about it?
I created it in 2011 after some long solo trips, when I realized that in Italy there were still many people who had prejudices related to solo travel.
When I traveled I met people from all over the world and never from Italy and so I decided to talk about it myself, first in a rather impersonal way without putting my face on it and then I realized that instead people wanted to know more about me and so I started to show myself.
Being a psychologist I also began to develop a more psychological interpretation of travel which then became travel coaching, the consultancy service I offer on the site.
What is your background and how did you get into blogging? Did you have any particular skills?
I am a tourist psychologist, I have always liked computers, I worked on them even before, then I took a tourism 2.0 course then lots of books and courses on SEO, creative writing, photos, videos and so on and so forth.
I invested a lot of hours and money to understand something, fortunately now the IT part is managed by a team.
To date you have visited more than 75 countries, a huge number! What was your first solo trip, and what would you say to yourself today, before going on that trip?
The first was Istanbul Cappadocia in 2008, I would tell myself at the time that it was an excellent idea, that I would have had the answers I was looking for and that I could have even dared more and stayed out longer.
We have seen that Japan is among the many destinations you have visited: would you like to give us your perspective on this country?
Yes, I have been there 3 times although I have not yet traveled as much as I would like, it is a unique place, they have a huge tradition, a culture that is so different from ours and therefore super interesting. When I go back I will want to see the lesser-known, more rural places, they intrigue me a lot.

I've been trying to have a more sustainable life for years, my house is powered by solar panels, I try to have a vegetable garden with terrible results, I'm very, very careful about what I buy and the choices I make, in life and travel, so I think it's really important and that many people can choose you even just for your commitment to sustainability.
