SERENDIPITY
ELISA'S TRAVELS

Elisa, a crazy love for travel, writing and photography that come together on her site Serendipitous , and a hidden dream: Africa with a thousand colors and scents.

Welcome to Easy Travel Hosting! Can you tell us a little about yourself, what you love and hate, and the concept of Serendipity?

My name is Elisa, a thirty-one year old from Turin who for the moment wouldn't live anywhere else, Aries ascendant Taurus – and with me the horoscope always gets it right. I love sunsets over the sea, long car journeys with constant detours and stops, hotel buffet breakfasts even if I almost never have them at home, having a trip planned but keeping its secret, wandering through the woods, getting lost on an island out of season.

I hate victimism, slowness and queuing at the airport, those who think that dreams come true on their own, contexts in which you can't really say what you think.

Serendipity is my heart tattoo, the only one that perhaps I would also do on my skin. It is a way of life, which inevitably also spreads into my way of travelling.

I love wandering in new places, for me an inexhaustible source of joy and creativity, I train myself to be amazed by small things, I am always ready to welcome and celebrate the unexpected.

We read that you love photography. Which photographers inspire you the most?

For me the photo is a moment and I later remember. I am absolutely self-taught and very far from professional photography, but if I had to tell you which photographers inspire me the most, they are undoubtedly travel reporters.

A few months ago I was at the World Press Photo photojournalism exhibition, well, all of them are a source of inspiration for me. And of admiration.

When planning a trip, is there a type of attraction/place/venue that you always look for?

I search and wait for the spark. All the places I have visited so far have suddenly triggered something in me, like a sort of falling in love. Maybe for an article read in a magazine, the story of a stranger or a photo found on the web.

In the places I visit I go in search of the things I love most: particular bookshops or historic libraries, botanical gardens, castles, villas, uncontaminated nature, perched villages are the common thread of my travels.

What do you do to make your travels greener?
