AFTER WHICH TRIP DID YOU DECIDE TO OPEN A BLOG?
I decided to open my blog Punto e Viaggio after realizing my life's dream: taking a solo trip somewhere in the world.
I only managed to do it in 2016 following the closure of the shop where I worked. I took advantage of the opportunity to discover countries I had long dreamed of: Mexico, Guatemala, Belize and Honduras.
I was traveling for 6 months and saw enchanting places, met wonderful people and honed my ability to be alone. It was an all-encompassing experience who shaped me and who I highly recommend to everyone!

ON YOUR SITE YOU SAY THAT YOUR PASSION FOR TRAVEL BORN FROM TWO BOOKS. COULD YOU TELL US MORE?
My dream actually achieved It depends a lot on the book I read as a child and which changed my existence: Around the World in 80 Days by Jules Verne. I was fascinated by the possibility of going on an adventure trip without planning it, creating an itinerary along the way. It seemed like the materialization of freedom and I thought that "when I grew up" I would want to do it too!
The other book I am referring to is the Wizard of Oz where the protagonist, in the company of her beloved dog Totò, meets incredible characters and goes on a journey that transforms her completely.
I have always understood travel as a possibility for personal growth and escape from the daily routine. These two books were able to represent the aforementioned concepts impeccably, that's why they impressed me so much...

PLEASE TELL US ABOUT YOUR CONCEPT OF A FLANEURIST TRAVELER!
I discovered the art of Flaneurism recently, after reading a book that talked about this and I realized that my travels were also pervaded by this aspect.
As you can see, books accompany me and open doors that I didn't know I had closed... However, being a flaneur simply means being a person who travels following his or her instincts but not randomly but rather activated by one's senses. This means walking without a map and getting lost in observing the details that characterize a certain place, sitting down to listen to the sound of a language or grasping the imperceptible similarities that characterize a people.
The latter is also linked to another concept that is very close to my heart, namely the Genius Loci, the spirit of the place, the ability to adapt to the city in which one is born, or lives, unconsciously adopting certain types of behaviour, attitude or temperament. So do you understand how important the role of our five senses is?
It's not just visiting a museum or eating a typical dish but seeing, tasting, hearing, touching and smelling with the awareness of the soul.

WHAT DO YOU DO TO MAKE YOUR TRIPS MORE ECOLOGICAL?
I will confess to you that I can't do much even if I am careful not to waste and have a minimal environmental impact. Unfortunately, it is not easy, especially when traveling, to stay true to your purpose.
In fact, I realized that during a stay abroad I tend to consume more prepared products and use disposable packaging, increasing rather than decreasing waste. As for preparing the suitcase, I solved the problem by stocking up on reusable items but the problem of food remains.
You should always dine at a restaurant but, being a low-cost traveller, I tend to buy food on the street or at the supermarket. For travel, however, a much broader and difficult to manage chapter opens up because consumption during a tour is often excessive. You can take various rather polluting public transport, without the possibility of choice.
Anyway, thank you for the question, it made me think and I keep it as a goal to pursue for 2020.
