RECIPES FROM A CELIAC MOTHER

""Bunsen, campioni, fialette occupano otto ore della mia giornata. Dopo però mi butto nella mia passione, una cucina cento per cento gluten free." Recipes from a celiac mother is Margharet's blog, where she makes our mouths water with her gluten free recipes.

WELCOME TO ESAY TRAVEL HOSTING! CAN YOU TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF, ABOUT YOUR Stubbornness AND BEING ROMAGNOLA?

Many people think that I am of Anglo-Saxon origin both because of my name, Margharet, and because of my colors and ways of doing things, however I am Italian, and from Romagna to boot. Being from Romagna is directly proportional to being stubborn, we don't give up on anything, especially when faced with difficulties.

I'm not a cook and I do something completely different in life.

After work, however, I throw myself into my passion, cooking, but not generic cuisine
but rather a one hundred percent gluten free cuisine. A cuisine that I share on the blog with my readers, the main ingredient of the recipes is the love I put in, first in thinking about them and then in cooking them. Quick and simple recipes, given the little time available, but still recipes that make you feel happy to be at home and to be with family.

WE READ THAT YOU LIKE RETRO ITEMS. WE AT ESAY TRAVEL HOSTING LOVE VINTAGE AND SECOND HAND ITEMS! CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT THIS PASSION OF YOURS?

My other great passion is wandering around flea markets, vintage fairs and everything related to the past. I don't know how to explain it but it's as if those objects, in their own way, manage to carry you with "feet on the ground", as when simplicity and not sobriety was the master.

We are always looking for the new thing, the latest model that has yet to be released but you have already bought it online (absurd and terrifying!) while an old teapot can be transformed into a ladle holder for the kitchen that no one has.

Cookbooks are my favorite vintage items that I buy and drew inspiration from for my two books Gluten-free Artusi (Editrice Il Ponte Vecchio, 2013) e Petronilla – the art of cooking with what is available (Edizioni del Loggione, 2017).

NOT EVERYONE CAN TURN AN EVENT SUCH AS THE DISCOVERY OF A CHILD'S CELIAC DISEASE INTO A SOURCE OF INSPIRATION AND STRENGTH. CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT THIS AND THE CHANGE IN YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH FOOD AND COOKING?

Transform challenges into opportunities is my motto, perhaps it is better to say that if that is the only path to take it is better to start walking.

The diagnosis of celiac disease, first mine as a girl just over 18 and then that of my son at just two years old, is a bitter pill to eat but we immediately rolled up our sleeves.

We started to transform traditional Italian recipes into gluten free versions and it was a success for us and for all the people who follow the blog.

WHAT DO YOU DO TO MAKE YOUR LIFE GREENER?

Perhaps this is the most difficult question to answer. I could say the usual things that I separate waste collection, that I try not to waste food, that I don't consume too much water but the truth is that I try to raise my children to become educated people who respect everything around them. It seems easy but it's not!
