Welcome to Easy Travel Hosting! Could you tell us a little about yourself and your relationship with travel and tourism?
Thank you for the invitation! I am a tourist for work, as well as for pleasure. I write about travel and tourism for various blogs and magazines: I started writing in 2012 on the DiscoverLaCalabria blog (which I founded together with a friend) and then began various collaborations with numerous local and national newspapers.
Today I have my own personal blog (www.deboracalomino.it) and I continue to collaborate with magazines, writing on travel pages. I love discovering small villages and then telling my readers about them. Travel for me is discovery and emotion, immersing yourself in the local culture and living in those days like a resident.
I don't like pre-packaged itineraries for tourists, I prefer to feel part of the area I visit.

In July 2020 I published the e-book “Tourist Visions - Marketing, Culture and Trends” published by Maurfix. The book (made only in digital format) talks about tourism in a simple way.
He starts by talking about how the way of relating to tourism has changed due to the pandemic and I gradually explain my vision of tourism. I underline the importance of the well-being of the resident population for quality tourism, I talk about the evolution of travel, emerging market niches (which can be a starting point for both sector operators and tourists).
Visioni Turistice collects a series of reflections on tourism and territorial marketing (of which I am an expert on the subject at the University of Calabria) and does so by getting straight to the point, which is why it is a smooth read and suitable for everyone.
On your blog you can read a lot about tourism but Debora, where and how do you like to travel?
They are www.deboracalomino.it there is behind the scenes of my work. I like to talk about places and emotions, but also books that talk about travel, experiences that I have lived firsthand.
For my travels I prefer Italian destinations, I love the sea and the small villages overlooking it. In fact, the sea is an essential element in my stories.
When I go to a tourist destination I want to discover the myths and legends that characterize it, if there are any particular anecdotes. The beauty of tourism is that each of us can experience the area as we prefer: there are those who love to relax and enjoy the natural environment to regenerate, there are those who want to take active holidays and feel satisfied by the discovery of new elements, which contribute to creating a new vision of the world. Based on the circumstances, I belong to both categories.
Tourism and ecology: how do these two factors intertwine?
Tourism and ecology are very linked to each other. I also talk about it in Tourist Visions, in two chapters. There is a new awareness of the value of territories: travelers are more attentive to green destinations.
Preserving nature and the environment in which we live (be it residence or temporary accommodation) is always a key concept for the healthy growth of territories.
It is necessary to safeguard the environment, and even if tourism is often associated with personal pleasure, it can be a way to educate on important issues, such as respect for nature, the reduction of pollution and the protection of territories, fundamental elements for life.
