TELL US ABOUT WHY YOU STARTED WRITING A BLOG!
We started the blog itinerariodiviaggio.com partly for fun and partly without even realizing it. The passion for travel has already existed for many years, practically since we met.
I was working on creating a site and between one test and another a first draft of what later became internodiviaggio.com emerged. The idea and objective of our blog is to help those who, like us, love "tourist" travel.
I very often read blogs that underline how important it is to be travellers, mix with local populations and live like a local. Our idea of travel is to live an experience that can also be of that type but we don't say no to a tourist bus or an ad hoc show of local culture.
I SAW THAT YOU TRAVELED TO JAPAN, THE LAND WE LOVE. CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT YOUR TRIP? WHY THIS CHOICE?
We were recently in Japan, a destination we had been aiming for for a long time but which we decided on and booked within a very short time. The choice is dictated by several factors, first of all their culture.
Japanese culture characterized practically the entire childhood of those who were children between the 80s and 90s. Cartoons such as Holly and Benji, Doraemon or Ken the warrior are in the imagination of all of us and the idea of going to the country where they were imagined pushed us to leave even more!
If we add to this a unique food of its kind, a technology light years ahead of ours in stark contrast with the temples and rural areas of the state, a more unique than rare mix arises.
WHAT WAS THE MOST ELECTRIFYING EXPERIENCE YOU HAVE LIVED WHILE TRAVELING?
As for electrifying experiences, it's difficult to choose one, we have a certain ability to experience trips in such an immersive way that we carry them all in our hearts.
Whether you are in the mountains in our area (we are from Bergamo) or in front of the tallest skyscraper in the world, the emotion is always that of amazement. Surely there are a couple of memories that we are most attached to like our first sunset in the desert or when we looked out over the Grand Canyon for the first time but I am convinced that our best trip will always be the next one.
WHAT DO YOU DO TO MAKE YOUR TRIPS MORE ECOLOGICAL?
The ecology theme has been central in recent years, so much so that it has almost been abused. We are certainly happy that we are talking about it but words alone are of little use. In our own small way, we try first of all to leave the places we stay in as we found them: no waste paper, no barbecues in the middle of the woods and the like.
We very often use public or green transport such as bicycles and electric scooters which are very popular abroad while here in Italy we have not yet understood their potential.
One last gem, however small it may be, lately we always carry wooden cutlery with us: reusable and also allowed on planes (there is also a straw among the cutlery).
