COUSINS ON A TRIP
4 BROTHERS-IN-LAW IN LOVE
OF TRAVELS

Matteo, Francesca, Iacopo and Federica, four different people united by a love of travel and a kinship bond. Today we host the four boys from Cousins on the Trip

Welcome to Easy Travel Hosting! Your blog is really interesting, you have really traveled to many countries. Could you introduce yourself and talk about how your blog was born?

Hello everyone, let us introduce ourselves, we are the Cognatintrip: Matteo, Federica, Iacopo and Francesca, four brothers-in-law, two twin sisters and their respective partners.

For more than 10 years we have been traveling around the world, discovering places, countries, people and emotions. Over time the emotions and stories grew, and this is why in September 2016 we decided to open our travel blog.

The intent is to convey what we have experienced and felt to those who read us, giving advice and encouraging people to travel or even just dream. The main target is represented by Viaggi Zaino in Spalla, always looking for adventure and breathtaking natural places.

Four people and four characters who, from what you describe, are very different. Choose one country each that has captured your heart, and tell us why!

I Matteo choose Brazil, an immense country both in terms of territory and the beauties it offers. From the “wonderful city” of Rio de Janeiro, to one of the seven natural wonders of Iguazu Falls, from the fauna of the Pantanal to the unforgettable sunsets of the Lencois Maranhenses. Every place, every meeting, every moment lived in the Carioca town left an indelible memory deep in my heart.

I Federica choose the Galapagos, for me, a lover of nature and animals, finding myself in this uncontaminated paradise was like daydreaming. Seeing numerous endemic species up close, which I had only admired in documentaries, such as marine iguanas, giant turtles, blue-footed boobies or frigate birds, aroused in me a joy that made me feel like a child again.

I Iacopo chose Indonesia, an incredible journey where we lived a series of unforgettable experiences, from a close encounter with a bear and some orangutans, to having lived four days on a boat in the middle of Borneo surrounded by crocodiles; met the Komodo dragons and witnessed the phenomenon of blue flames in the crater of the Kawah Ijen volcano, and these are just to name a few.

I Francesca choose Kenya. I've been there twice and every time I came back I felt that famous "Africa sickness". It captured my heart mainly for two reasons, the first because for me the safari experience is among the most beautiful in the world, being immersed in the savannah observing the animals is an indescribable joy. The second because this country always teaches me a lesson, you can always be happy, even when you have nothing.

One item each that you always carry in your suitcase and that you can't do without?

Matteo: The object I chose is my inseparable Lonely Planet guide. Without that we can't even start. As a true organizer, for me it is an indispensable tool for planning, before and during each of our trips.

Federica: I can't do without my backpack, from which like Mery Poppins I can pull out unthinkable objects that are useful and fundamental at the moment. Having my backpack on my shoulders gives me a sense of freedom and independence that is unparalleled.

Iacopo: What must never be missing during my travels is the camera, a passion born while traveling and which I would no longer be able to give up. I love looking for the perfect shot!

Francesca: It may seem strange and not like a "real traveler" but for me it is extremely important; I suffer from light sleep and we happened to sleep practically EVERYWHERE, in the most bizarre places, so if I don't always have earplugs and a mask with me, sleeping can become a problem.

What do you do to make your travels more eco-friendly?

I think that respecting the surrounding environment is one of the fundamental cornerstones of our vision of the world, which we obviously also carry forward during our travels.

Unfortunately, like most travelers, we travel by plane, and this certainly does not have a positive impact on our zero-impact conduct.
When we travel, however, we try to limit waste as much as possible, preferring to travel on foot rather than using polluting vehicles.

We always prefer to eat and stay at local restaurants and accommodation to the detriment of the big giants of mass tourism.
We always carry our super water bottles with us, eliminating the use of plastic as much as possible.

Lately we have also contributed to the reforestation of some locations in Costa Rica, purchasing a native tree.

Obviously our goal is to do something more every day while respecting nature.

Easy Travel Hosting thanks Matteo, Francesca, Iacopo and Federica very much for taking part in our interview.
