ANDREA
LIFE AS A WEB DESIGNER
Sometimes things start a little unexpectedly, as in this case from an ad on Facebook. That's how it is Andrea Gullo he began his journey in the world of the Internet first, and in Web Design immediately afterwards.
Hi Andrea, Welcome to Easy Travel Hosting! Could you tell us a little about yourself and how you approached the world of the Internet and subsequently web design?
Hi, thanks so much for the invitation! It's a good question...
I approached this fantastic world in 2017 on an August afternoon.
I was browsing Facebook and a Google advertisement appeared on my feed: it was a free course on Digital Marketing, from that moment on I have never stopped to delve deeper into this immense digital world.
At that time I was doing an apprenticeship as a surveyor in a technical firm that I later left, the more I discovered new things the more I became passionate about this world.
After a couple of years I became passionate about websites, to be precise about creating user experience.
I realized I wanted to do the job I do now when I started a short experience in a food start-up, I identified several critical points on their website.
From there I started studying user experience. Now I'm here building brands online.

We often read these acronyms when talking about website construction: UX/UI. Perhaps for non-experts the meaning still remains a mystery. Could you explain it to us?
They are acronyms that are very often used without knowing their true meaning. So..
UX stands for "user experience", i.e. the structural part that any project has. Simply put, the interactive user experience while browsing a website.
UI stands for "user interface", or the aesthetic part (colours, images and complete fonts) of any digital project.

When a client commissions you for a site, is it difficult to make them understand how much work goes into it and how important it is to have a well-defined project and not change your mind in the middle of the project?
This is an important topic, because many people don't understand the real work behind it.
They believe that creating a website is just inserting 2 words and 2 images, perhaps grainy, to launch a project online as quickly as possible.
Precisely regarding this, in the last period, I have been creating new articles to change this mentality.
Finally, I believe that to create a sustainable brand over time it is important to identify the true identity values and build an optimal user experience.

Let's completely change the subject: next trip?
Eh.. next trip..?
Now in this period of pandemic it is difficult to travel calmly and respecting others. If there wasn't the pandemic, I would go to Bali.
But there are many other places I would like to visit and explore.
I hope to be able to travel soon!
As you know, Easy Travel Hosting uses renewable and eco-sustainable energy to power its servers. Furthermore, a tree is planted for each new hosting, actively helping reforestation and the absorption of CO2. What do you think of this project and in general, do you think it is important to seek a more sustainable lifestyle?
First of all, I am happy that these services are being created that bring concrete help to our planet.
I think there should be more services that focus on sustainability, to make people more responsible for the environment.
Many don't care about what's around us. It's a shame.
One of my next goals is to increasingly support eco-sustainable brands, in spreading their message like yours.
That's why I started this collaboration with you.
