WE SAW THAT ON YOUR SITE YOU TELL ABOUT A TRIP THAT CHANGED YOUR LIFE. HOW DID IT CHANGE YOU?

Well, our camper honeymoon in Ireland certainly changed our lives in many ways.

It was the first trip as a "family" officially recognized as such, even if the labels always leave the time they find.
It was the first long trip with our Merlino camper, still the companion of a thousand adventures today.
And it was after this tour of Ireland, a destination I had dreamed of for years, that the idea of opening a travel blog was born, first "just for" and then gradually more seriously.

In short, it can be said that it was precisely the trip to Ireland that gave the "start" for the beginning of this new adventure that led us to make work a passion. By opening the blog we met many people, had a thousand experiences, participated in trade fairs as industry experts and started collaborating with many wonderful companies. And we are certain that the best is yet to come…

PHOTOGRAPHY AND TRAVEL, AN ESSENTIAL COMBINATION FOR YOU?

Absolutely yes.

We are of the idea that a place must first be experienced and savored with the eyes, mind and heart to permanently fix it in one's soul…But photography is that something that makes a memory, a moment, an experience even more tangible.

Photographing means "drawing with light", and the term is already poetic in itself, right?

It's technique, but also expressive freedom. It means applying rules, but also upsetting them and rewriting new ones.

It's like giving voice and shape to your thoughts, and is therefore a very powerful means of communication. Nowadays if I don't "see" something with my own eyes, whether from direct experience or through photographs or videos, that something is as if it doesn't exist. You can't really believe it, give it substance.

There remains an "it is said that".

And yet reality and the world have a lot to tell. Both good and bad things obviously, and not showing them when possible would be a stop to the knowledge of those who are not there with us at that moment.

Our goal is this, speaking of photography: to raise awareness and excite.

WHAT WAS THE MOST EXTREME EXPERIENCE YOU HAVE LIVED WHILE TRAVELING?

It depends on what we mean by “extreme”.

Let's say that every camper trip is an adventure: there is always something that doesn't go as planned, and these large or small "accidents" represent a stimulating and, at times, even unnerving challenge.

But in this way we learn to sharpen our ingenuity, to evaluate the entire range of possible solutions we have when faced with a problem and to react promptly.

We grow as people and as a couple.

We certainly experienced one of the first major inconveniences in Germany, when Merlino's alternator suddenly broke down, leaving us stranded in a foreign land.

If we talk about extreme experiences from a climatic point of view, however, one of the toughest was given by the strong Irish wind and the incessant and violent rain that accompanied us for most of our honeymoon (it even rained in the camper, flooding our bed!), while more recently a nice snowfall surprised us at night without a shovel to clear the way. We got away with using a soup ladle…

However, we have traveled many extreme roads. For example, the one towards the Ponte nel Cielo, in Valtellina: a riot of steep and narrow hairpin bends, walls with sharp rocks and a precipice on the other side. No chance of turning back unless reaching the top of the mountain first…and yes, we ruined Merlin a bit there.

WHAT DO YOU DO TO MAKE YOUR TRIPS MORE ECOLOGICAL?

The camper, needless to say, is not an ecological means of transport. However, it must also be said that it puts you more in contact with nature than many other travel methods, if only for the fact that you often find yourself staying overnight in a campsite.

Those who don't know what life is like inside a recreational vehicle may not realize it, but a camper usually buys a very large number of bottles of water for example, which causes problems with sanitizing the tanks. Here, we have solved the problem by using a portable ozonizer, which sanitizes the tank and makes the water we fill drinkable and very healthy. So no more plastic!

We do not use, except in cases of absolute emergency, plastic plates and glasses but only melamine; we use eco-sustainable and organic detergents and cosmetics; we reduce water waste and produce energy using solar panels; as soon as possible we shop with small producers and not in supermarkets; we do separate waste collection.

Small gestures perhaps…but it's still a beginning!
