Travel against wind
Itineraries outside the
Municipality with Nicole

Promoter and tourist escort, loves nature and all those travels that have the perfume of adventure. Travel against wind It is the blog where Nicole takes us to the less tourist routes, more in contact with real local life.

Welcome to Easy Travel hosting! You could tell us about how your passion for travel was born and how in time you made it your profession?

I have been in tourism for a lifetime. Higher Tourism Institute, International trade the University, Promotion and tourist communication The master's degree.

Seasons abroad as a tourist assistant for the great Italian tour operators, Guide to excursions to Greece. I lived in Berlin and Thessaloniki.

During the university studies I managed to take the license of tourist escort and from there I am no longer stopped.

I accompanied small and large groups of Italian tourists in the world, Marathoneti to large foreign marathons like NYC, Chicago etc and American tourists to visit Italy.

I made my dream come true. In this work there are no times, There are no holidays when you want them, Free time is the evening when you go to sleep, you can find H24, It is not paid by hours, It is not a job from Monday to Saturday, often problems of all kinds must be solved (embassies, police, hospitals, return, accidents, but also surprises, romantic dinners, excursions etc.), But for me it is the most beautiful job in the world, It is a love that cultivates with passion.

I want to say a lot that I'm not a travel blogger. That is, I have a blog, that I myself built on the WP platform in complete autonomy without any help, But I am first of all an expert a tourism professional.

Everything I write or I say is the result of many years of study and work, I am not a traveler who suggests destinations. I suggest tips that come from my background and my job.

Thanks to my profession, Unfortunately or luckily I find myself having to "spulce" destinations and structures, So I have a clinical eye for hotels and tourist companies. I have to do it for work, Because then I have some relationships to lead to agencies.

I immediately see what goes and what doesn't. Any advice comes from professional suggestions.

Drawings food and wine itineraries, A tourism sector that does not seem to flex even in front of Covid. Propose very interesting and unique experiences, How to sleep in a barrel of Prosecco! You can tell us about this aspect of your work?

Since I have the master's master's master's office in promotion, I have become a promoter of tourism in all respects. I also continue to be a tourist accompanner, But I deal with promoting itineraries, Destinations and tested experiences. If I found myself well why not suggest it ?

I also deepened with further studies the world of web marketing and social media, Therefore, erecogue for small companies that want to enter the world of tourism, also through help in organizing events.

I do not promote companies that deal with mass tourism, I worked for the big tour operators, But it is not a world that belongs to me. I promote exclusively local companies, small businesses, cellars. Everything related to a slow and eco -sustainable tourism that enhances local organizations.

I strongly believe that a experienced tourist experience, is worth more than anything. Tourists want to "live" "savor" "taste" "tasting" every single moment of the trip. And this is the type of trip I like to promote.

When I am not on a trip for work and trip on my own I like to try tourist experiences to propose to my readers. Or for example there are cellars who call me to show me their tourist offer, as happened in Prosecco that I was invited to see this beautiful resort immersed in the vineyards, which offers rooms obtained from biological barrels and wines.

I like genuine companies, The family stories that are hidden behind these businesses. Wine and wine world have always fascinated me, So much to want to study also to become a sommelier. I'm at the first level. So often I will happen to me for food and wine tours.Behind a glass of wine there is history and culture and why not also welcome.

Another point on which I strongly believe is the network of companies, The collaborations that can be created. Always starting from the point of view "if I found myself well" I recommend that place, that company, Then surely the favor comes back and if I do not return it doesn't matter I made someone happy.

Tourists are not foolish or people to screw, I want them to be fine, that you live a good experience and that they return home happy. I also happened to draw itineraries but in collaboration with travel agencies, because I am not an agency, But traveling a lot and always thanks to my travel experiences I have the opportunity to meet many realities.

The journey against wind, against traditional tourism, In search of authentic experiences. Which was your first, Very personal journey against wind?

My blog was born first of all from the need to make something useful for everyone available, Often customers who have already traveled with me ask me for advice and therefore I wanted a place available where anyone could "draw" useful advice.

Second was born to allow me to continue traveling, at least with the mind and not to go crazy. In fact I built it during the first Lockdown, while the cancellations of works in Catinelle raised. I wanted to continue dreaming of travel and write saved me.

I chose the name against wind, Because I like to recommend out of the ordinary itineraries, Because I recommend companies and destinations without there being a economic return, Most of the time there are no commissions. I like to recommend only what I myself have tried, not so much for the Commission. Just like it happened with my new green hosting.

I think you can live against wind even without doing who knows what adventure, but maybe instead of choosing, where possible of course, The All Inclusive Village I choose the B&local and I eat in the nearby restaurant, rather than inside the village where there is an Italian cook. I eat pasta in Italy, Abroad I only try local food. I choose the companies in the area for my visit and I do not buy the expensive excursion proposed by the tourist assistant. I go directly to the source.

Perhaps having worked in person for large companies, It gave me the opportunity to see how discriminated local companies are and therefore I thought that this world cannot be part of mine. I think my first trip against wind was precisely during one of the work experiences abroad.

I was in Greece, on a wonderful island lost and after the work season, I stopped to do some vacation. A friend had lent me his home on the sea, It was the most beautiful weeks of my life. I was alone, The empty beaches, very few tourists, they had already removed the umbrellas, But in Greece you can go to the sea until November sometimes even more in the.

Often in the evening I was watching the stars on the terrace, During the day I explored the island through also paths in nature, I was sning, In the evening I dinner in some local tavern. I love those taverns where the grandmother is still at work in the kitchen. I was talking to local people, with the priest of some village, with the elderly outside the bar.

Here are those who know more than any book. I did not do who know what adventure, I just detached the plug for a while and I connected to the place where I was, I lived in full in an authentic way. You know that a local excursion to Greece, The classic boat ride of the day, If purchased directly at the port it can cost 20 euro instead of i 50-100 Euro purchased in the village?

That experience remained in my heart and I will always carry it inside.

What do you do to make your travels more ecological?

To make my trips more ecological, As already mentioned purchasing directly from the premises: experience, excursions, food, wine etc.. I only eat in restaurants, taverns places of the place, I never buy all inclusive travels. Check prices on large portals, but then contact the structures directly in order to save and avoid the premises of having to pay great commissions on the portals, for my stay.

I use towels several times, I don't make them change every day. I use steel water bottles that I carry from home and avoid plastic if I can. I turn off the lights, I detach the plug when I go out of the room. If I can, I move with local or walking vehicles.

I mold nothing, I keep everything on the phone. I use bamboo toothbrushes and shampoo and travel foam travel in reusable or saving containers. I'd like to use multiple trains and buses, But they are often expensive or non -efficient means and therefore I take the plane, But I try to be more respectful through other practices.

I care that they earn the premises instead of the big multinationals. When I am on the beach I always have a bag for the trash for the garbage. In my little one I try to do something and to respect as much as possible everything around me, starting from the work of others.

We have only one planet and it is right that it is a welcoming place for everyone, Even for those who come after me.
