It was a trip to Southeast Asia to suggest me to open the blog. I was on the island of Palawan, in the Philippines, and I was contemplating the horizon from the boat. Roberto, On that journey my partner (Current husband now, ndr), He asked me what he was doing, I remember answering: “I'm writing”.
I had no paper and pen in those circumstances, I was writing with my mind. And I continued to do it. I wrote a lot during that trip, The words flowed serene. After that trip, only, I didn't open the blog. It was the next trip to Southeast Asia that made me decide, I found myself on a boat once again, between the banks of the Mekong River, in Laos. In an article you talk about the twenty years of the beautiful Tate Modern in London, which celebrates with two exceptional artists, that here at Easy Travel hosting we love infinitely. You could talk about these artists and what they represent for you?
We are talking about Louise Bourgeois and Yayoi Kusama. Both I met them as an adult, First Louise and then Yayoi. When Tate Modern decided to celebrate its twenty years with an exhibition them, I thought of taking a plane ticket and organizing a London weekend. Then tea is the drink of travellers, it brings with it years and years of history, research, of discoveries, from China to Japan, from India to Thailand, gives well-being. The tea ceremony is a magical act, takes a while’ time, but it's worth it.
Do you think that art is somehow acting to counteract the climate catastrophe we are facing?
Yes, decidedly.
There are so many musicians, actors, designer, painters, who demonstrate on the front lines of the climate emergency. Björk, i Massive Attack, Jane Fonda who continually gets arrested with her protests, Banksy with his street art, Edouard François with its bioarcitecture, To say some…
But not only by putting us face. The art world is changing the use of materials, more and more ecological and in favor of recycling and reuse. It is no coincidence that many artists now call themselves eco-artists for their eco-art.
