The reason you get up every morning
The perception of the perfect overlap of our souls was immediate, spontaneous and irrational. Travele is the blog where Filippo and Ornella explain to us the reason why they get up every morning.

IN YOUR BLOG YOU TALK ABOUT "IKIGAI". CAN YOU EXPLAIN THIS CONCEPT TO US?
“Ikigai” is a Japanese term that literally translated means “the reason you get up every morning”.
This word expresses an approach to life, a philosophy characterized by the desire to live a complete existence, balanced, peaceful and satisfying.
Come? Achieving balance and harmony in everyone's four vital areas: mission, vocation, passions and profession.
Ecco, reaching Ikigai means being in the intersection area of these four aspects.
Facile? Absolutely not!
In our opinion, the most difficult thing is to understand what our Ikigai is: most of the time, in life, we become and do what the outside world expects of us (the parents, the company, friends), without listening to your own being. This can generate dissatisfaction, anger and frustration.
As far as we're concerned, we can say that Viaggiadori was a fantastic springboard towards our Ikigai: giving shape to the project, Indeed, we found ourselves at (ri)discover what we are, that we love and that we desire for our lives.

WHICH CITY HAS SNAPPED YOUR HEART?
Let's assume that, in general, we are two curious and enthusiastic people: we literally love visiting new places, walking down unfamiliar streets without a map, discover local stories and legends.
We visited several cities – mainly in Italy and Europe – beautiful, fascinating, interesting, rich in history or modern; however, it is not the city that makes our hearts beat faster and we prefer more bucolic and rural environments and landscapes!
Anyway, one of the places that literally stole our hearts is Santorini, with white buildings, the blue domes and fuchsia flowers that characterize its small towns, for example Phira which is the capital and Oia. Then there is the luxury of the private pools overlooking the Imerovigli caldera. However, we preferred the wilder part of the island: the arid hinterland, the isolated coves, the panoramic archaeological excavations.
With our fifty we "darted" along kilometers of dirt roads in the middle of nowhere (abnormally). We still marvel at having brought it back to the owner intact after seven days of hard work!
Apart from the bleak aspect which we did not expect and which we loved madly, the sunsets! Everyone knows that Santorini is famous for its beautiful sunsets, and that's exactly how it is.
We have chosen to see them all from different points of the western side: from Skaros Rock – a large rock in the middle of the sea, with a fair level of fall risk – at the Akrotiri lighthouse. The constant was the ice cold Greek beer!

WE OFTEN TALK ABOUT THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BEING A TOURIST AND BEING A TRAVELER. WHAT DO YOU CONSIDER YOURSELF?
We think these are very different concepts. Objectively we never asked ourselves if we were one or the other, but of course we always talked about travel, and not about holidays.
Also because, ours are real tours de force, anything else!
Anyway, our travel idea is simple: whatever place we visit, we are there, at that moment, maybe we won't go back a second time (because the world is big) and therefore we want to take advantage of the time available to us to really discover that place.
Obviously when we talk about place we include the people who live there, the activities they carry out, the food they eat, ecc.
There are people who, despite going to the other side of the world, they are looking for an Italian restaurant or an American fastfood restaurant to dine in; ecco, for us it would be absurd!

WHAT DO YOU DO TO MAKE YOURS MORE ECOLOGICAL?
First of all, we try to limit our environmental impact in everyday life, with some small actions that concern, for example, our food choices.
Naturally, our attention also concerns travel: for example, we never print anything in paper format – such as reservations and airline tickets – unless it is absolutely necessary.
Typically, when we travel, we opt for a packed lunch, which is cheap, fast and comfortable, especially when you are surrounded by nature, like when we ate a nice sandwich with speck on the frozen Braies lake (time available for the meal: 3 minutes, after which the hands would freeze): in these cases we are careful not to leave our waste lying around! It seems trivial, but still too often you find paper and other things on the ground, everywhere.
We try to use our feet as a means of transportation, as much as possible, avoiding using public transport or the car.
In the end, we are quite strict in choosing the structures: to get back to the anecdote of Lake Braies, during that stay in Trentino we chose an alpine hotel that delighted us every evening with local products 0, self-produced by the owners of the structure.
Or, during on our last trip to Slovenia we chose a delightful zero waste glamping site, for example.
In short, we are not perfect and our trips are not completely green, However, we always try to include some worthy choices that make us a little proud of ourselves!
