A friend on the road
-The stories of Silvia-

Born in the eighties and lover of books, TV series, musica, pasta, pizza, chocolate and obviously travel. A friend on the road It is the blog where Silvia tells us all of this.

Welcome to Easy Travel hosting! Ticket in one hand and camera in the other, immersed in many trips. You could talk about yourself and how your blog was born?

I'm Silvia, I was born in the fabulous eighties and I am Veneta.

I have always loved to travel, Since I went to the beach with my parents and repeatedly asked to dedicate a few days also to discover the surroundings. Growing I understood that, In addition to traveling, I like to devote myself to the organization of the journey itself.

I document me by reading both the classic tourist guides and novels set in the destination I chose, I try to include unusual stops and local experiences in my itinerary that can enrich it, I carefully select the facilities in which to sleep and, ever since I can remember, I happily help family and friends to do the same.

I think this was the driving force that pushed me to open the blog. It was a beautiful summer evening at the end of June 2015 when I realized that I could put my little experience at the service of other travellers.

Provence - Saint Remy de Provence

Browsing your site we saw that you have visited many places, really many! But we noticed a particular love towards the US, what attracts you to this country?

I love large spaces, the contrast between the chaotic metropolises and the great parks of the West. In recent years I have returned to the States three times and I continue to feel the call.

Californian beaches, New York rooftops, the lobsters and lighthouses of New England, all different sides of the same coin.

Miles upon miles along the Route 66 or along the Pacific Coast Highway in the Big Sur region. The sense of freedom that on-the-road in the States gave me is priceless.

Roads that seem to never end, the wind on your hair, the motels that tell travellers' stories.
It is no coincidence that the next trip I dream of is to the Southern United States, from Alabama to Mississippi, from Louisiana to Texas.

Big Sur

We ask you to choose a trip to Italy, one for Europe and one for America, and tell us why this trip is special

I love this question!

For Italy I undoubtedly choose my Veneto and the eternal Venice, which is much more than it seems. Those who think of Venice tend to associate it with the Basilica of San Marco and the Grand Canal, but the real beauty is in the hidden streets, in the Jewish ghetto, in the few still active squeri that pass on the art of building and repairing gondolas, in the master glassmakers of Murano.

In Europe I say Provence and Camargue on-the-road, a trip that I organized with passion and which took me walking among lavender and sunflower fields, to go up the Rhone to spot flamingos and to stay in the ancient villa of a Provençal painter.

Trips to America all have a special flavor, but if I have to choose, I think of California, to the street art of San Francisco and the vineyards of Napa Valley, to walks on the Santa Barbara Pier and evenings at the Gaslamp Quarter in San Diego.

What do you do to make your travels more ecological?

Unfortunately I realize that I still can't travel in a completely eco-friendly way, just think of the polluting emissions from the plane. Ma, apart from that, once I reach my destination I try to respect the environment as much as possible, choosing eco-sustainable structures, moving on foot, by bicycle or public transport and limiting plastic starting from the simplest things.

For example, we often don't think about how many plastic bottles of water we buy during a trip. Trust me, there are many!

For years I have therefore been in the habit of carrying a water bottle with me and buying bottles of two liters or more (in the States, for example, I buy one-gallon cans directly), so you can fill the bottle countless times while reducing plastic consumption.
