TRAVEL TO TASTE
Travel and taste with Federica

Federica Giuliani, Journalist and Storyteller, Travel to tell places and foods from the world. Travel to taste It is the blog where he writes his experiences between travel and flavors.

Welcome to Easy Travel hosting! You could talk to us about you and how your blog was born?

When, 11 years ago, I decided to open a blog I had in mind the thought of showing my writing skills, hoping to be able to become an author and journalist.

Within a short time I was contacted by the director of a travel web magazine, Starting my path to journalism. I immediately specialized in tourism and gastronomy (Above all kitchens from the world) Because they were the topics that I best knew and that most fascinated me. The name “Travel to Taste” – A registered trademark – I seemed perfect to express my way of traveling and telling.

Today, I direct the travel newspaper Travelglobe.it and I write for the newspaper La Stampa of international kitchens. For now I have published two books (one on Türkiye and one on India) and a tour guide on Türkiye. My first novel, Instead, it is looking for publisher.

Voyage, flavors and smells, the discovery of a place through the senses. Which country surprised you most for its unexpected dishes?

To tell the truth, is found “voucher” In each area of the world: Just taste without prejudices. But there are countries that offer greater variety, making the gastronomic experience more fun and satisfactory.

Thailand is one of those places, But also Vietnam where I liked to start the day with a breakfast based on cold rolls of rice sheets stuffed with noodles, vegetables and shrimp.
In Finland, only, I was surprised to appreciate the lichens.

Travel often brings out of your comfort zone. You have never found yourself in unpleasant or difficult to manage situations?

When I can travel with my off -road vehicle, equipped with a curtain on the roof. In this way I did some of the most beautiful trips: crossing Syria and Jordan, I got to the Red Sea of Aqaba; I visited Armenia and celebrated Christmas in the Sahara.

And moving on the road it is not difficult to run into problems and misunderstandings, especially in customs between one country and another. With experience you learn not to get down or frighten: In these cases it is important to know international laws well and always respect the rules.

The pollution of the planet is to the stars but it seems that on the one hand there is a awakening on the part of many people about it, and greater awareness, perhaps thanks also to social media. What do you think?

I believe everyone, in your own small way, should contribute to the improvement of the planet's conditions. The recent pandemic, for example, He forced us to review some ways of traveling; If first we all seemed crazy balls committed to organizing holidays and weekends out of town, I hope that from now on we will try to travel with greater responsibility and awareness, Returning low cost tourism, who produced a no longer sustainable loverourism.

As for the role of social networks in all this, I believe that at the moment they are more than anything else a place to show off the photos of the conquered destinations. But I count on the fact that this will also change, To leave more space for dialogue and less apparently.
