After which journey you decided to open a blog?
I decided to open my blog point and trip after realizing the dream of my life: Take a solo trip somewhere in the world.
I managed to do it only in 2016 Following the closure of the shop where I worked. I took advantage of the occasion to discover the countries I had long dreamed: Mexico, Guatemala, the Belize and Honduras.
I was traveling for 6 months and I saw enchanted places, known wonderful people and refined my ability to be alone. It was a totalizing experience that has formed me and that I highly recommend to everyone!
On your site you tell that your passion for travel comes from two books. You could tell us more?
My dream made, actually, It depends a lot on the book I read as a child and that changed my existence: Around the world in 80 days of Jules Verne. I was fascinated by the possibility of leaving for a trip to adventure without planning it, Creating a road itinerary making. It seemed to me how the materialization of freedom and I thought that "when big" I would have liked to do it too!
The other book I refer to is the Wizard of Oz where the protagonist, In the company of his beloved Totò dog, meets incredible characters and makes a journey that transforms it completely.
I have always understood the journey as a possibility of personal growth and evasion from the daily routine. These two books have been able to represent the aforementioned concepts impeccable, That's why they struck me so ...
Please tell us about your concept of Flaneurist traveler!
I recently discovered the art of flaneurism, After reading a book that spoke of this and I realized that my travels were also pervaded by this aspect.
As you can see, the books accompany me and open doors that I didn't know I have closed ... Anyway, Being a flaneur simply means being a person traveling by following their instinct but not randomly but activated by one's own senses. This means walking without a map and getting lost to observe the details that characterize a certain place, sit to listen to the sound of a language or grasp the imperceptible similarities that characterize a people.
The latter is also linked to another concept that is very close to me or the genius loci, The spirit of the place, The ability to adapt to the city where you are born, or you live, unconsciously adopting certain types of behavior, attitude or temperament. So you understand how important the role of our five senses is?
It is not just visiting a museum or eating a typical dish but seeing, savor, hear, touch and smell with the awareness of the soul.
What do you do to make your travels more ecological?
I will confess that I can't do much even if I am careful not to waste and have a minimum environmental impact. Unfortunately, it is not simple, Especially when traveling to remain faithful about it.
I noticed, Indeed, that during a stay abroad I tend to consume multiple prepared products and use disposable packs, increasing instead of decreasing waste. As for the preparation of the suitcase, I overcome the question by supplying me with reusable items but the problem of food remains.
We should always have dinner at the restaurant but, Being a low cost traveler, I tend to buy street food or supermarket. For movements, on the other hand, a much wider and difficult to manage chapter opens because consumption during a tour are often excessive. You can take several rather polluting public transport, Without the possibility of choice.
