I SAW THAT YOU LISTED THE 100 THINGS TO DO BEFORE YOU DIE. WE ASK YOU 3!
- take a hot air balloon flight, all’alba, in Cappadocia; I have already been to Türkiye, but I only got to visit Istanbul, I would love to return to learn more about this country and will certainly not miss a stop in Cappadocia;
- go to Bali, I've been around it for a long time; it was supposed to be our honeymoon last year, but we postponed it; I could have gone there recently with my parents to visit my sister who is spending a few months there, but I gave up for health reasons; but it is a beautiful place, perfect to go around even with small children, so who knows if it might be one of the first trips with the little traveler who will be born in a few months!
- Return to South America, of which I have only visited Ecuador so far; if I really have to choose just one country, let's do Brazil, I dream of the Amazon rainforest, but also its cities full of life.

I SAW THAT YOU TOOK A LOT IN ITALY. WHAT IS THE MAIN DIFFERENCE YOU FIND BETWEEN TRAVELING IN ITALY AND TRAVELING ABROAD?
The first two differences that come to mind might be rather trivial:
- I get along well with English, but I have several friends who still choose Italy for linguistic convenience; In the 2020 it might seem strange, yet especially among those who are not regular travellers, but rather holidaymakers, this is still widespread.
- One point against, Instead, I'm the prices: a week at the seaside in Italy for a family can prove much more expensive than the same type of holiday abroad, both if you consider the apartments or for an all-inclusive treatment in a hotel or village.
At the level of welcome e di attention to the territory, generic distinctions cannot be made between Italy and abroad: kindness depends on the people we meet, which can make every destination special. The amount of activities to do and the good organization of museums and other attractions depend on municipalities, province, public bodies…
We choose Italy simply because it's our country, we think that sometimes it doesn't make sense to go far, and then neglect or ignore the beauties we have at hand. At the same time, however, distant destinations are also a strong attraction... so often it is a combination of timing and prices that decide for us!

HAVE YOU EVER TAKEN A TRIP THAT PROVED TO BE A DISASTER?
I've never done it (fortunately!) an entirely disastrous journey, but I made some organizational mistakes, mainly when I gave more space to my expectations than the needs of our children. Over time I've learned that it's not worth insisting on visiting a lot of things (my pace while traveling has always been quite fast), only to then get destroyed children who don't leave the beach for two or three days.
After our two week on the road in Portugal, for example, the kids were so tired, who went on strike during our last two days in Seville and I walked around the city alone (This isn't a bad solution either though). In this I learned to take it philosophically from my aunt: she also travels a lot with her two children and when they refuse to visit some attractions, his reaction is 'ok, in any case, if I had left them at home with the babysitter it would have cost me more than paying for entry to the museum and leaving them sitting and resting on a sofa while I visit it calmly'. This of course applies to teenage children, that I can be left alone, is not an invitation to abandon your young children.

What do you do to make your travels more ecological?
As a family we always leave with a full load, I mean that already traveling with four people in a full car is more environmentally friendly than using it to travel alone. Once at your destination, We also use public transport a lot, it's certainly a pleasure to do it where they are well organised, while there are situations with schedules that are so difficult to fit together, that make you abandon the idea of using the means.
It can certainly be done in the city: for example in Rome we chose to stay outside the city, as dear friends on Lake Albano and from there in the morning with an hour by regional train we were at Termini station, ready to enjoy exploring the capital.
Among the small ecological precautions that can be taken while travelling, there is to avoid disposable and plastic packaging, always carrying a water bottle with you to fill with drinking water; another good idea is to use a solid bar of soap instead of liquid shampoo and shower gel, which among other things is also convenient because it takes up little space in your luggage and does not cause problems at checks in the event of air travel.
Many precautions are the same as those we use at home: pay attention to the amount of water we use to wash ourselves, turning off the tap when we don't need it; make the most of the hours of natural light and use electric light only when necessary; print only what is strictly necessary, therefore not flight tickets that can be used via the app or accommodation booking confirmations. I rather send all the screens in the family chat, so even if my cell phone abandons me, three more remain as back-ups.
