Giada's travels

I 30 Giada's years coincide with the moment in which she decided to open her blog, Giada's travels where he tells us about his passions, between videos, photography and a deep love for travel.

Welcome to Easy Travel hosting! Could you tell us a little about yourself and when you started "given as a gift" your blog?

Five years ago, at the threshold of 30, I was at a stage in my life where, due to bad choices, It was not possible for me to travel.

Inside me, however, I felt that I could no longer suffocate this great passion of mine and I decided to travel in an alternative way, telling my past experiences in a blog.

It would have been a concrete and rewarding way to remember my adventures around the world while waiting to put my backpack back on my shoulders and set off towards new horizons.

A blog would then allow me to share my travels with those who have the same interests as me and, why not, be a source of inspiration for those who may have never taken a plane.

In addition to the blog, he has a YouTube channel where I try to convey my emotions with words, smiles and a few shining eyes.

Passionate about photography and video, you also have a Youtube channel that definitely has a good following. What do you think of this platform and what plans do you have with it??

Since I was a child I have always been passionate about photography and video, a passion that my father passed on to me. I have always liked to immortalize the happiest moments of my life, the moments that make me feel alive, moments that are priceless and give joy.

I launched my YouTube channel more than 11 Years ago by creating video vegetarian recipes/vegan and videos with a collage of my travel photos.
Now, however, I use it exclusively to tell my travels and show those who follow me how many beautiful places there are in the world…also a stone's throw from home.

In the future I would like to deepen this sector by transforming it into my work, But I know I will have to invest a lot of energy to become a professional because it is a world full of competition and to be able to give users a valid alternative to the many very good YouTubers we have in Italy, I will have to bring quality content, not only from the audiovisual point of view, but also, and above all, from an emotional point of view.

YouTube was the springboard for many people, Just think of Nicolò Balini (Human Safari), Marcello Ascani, Emanuele and Costanza (Coast to Costans), Mattia Miraglio, Claudio Pellizzeni (Trip Therapy).

I think that today YouTube is still one of the most valid platforms for having an audience that follows you and that gives you motivation every day to do better and therefore grow and have an economic return.

We read the article where you say you understood that you are no longer a tourist but have become a traveller. What differences are there for you between the two things?

The differences between a tourist and a traveler are truly many, but few can really understand it and notice its differences.

A tourist goes on holiday to relax, to visit new places, to do some sport.
The traveler, on the other hand, is not interested in relaxation: wants to find out, longing to explore new places, wants to learn about new cultures and new customs and live experiences first-hand.

The tourist books in advance in the tourist villages/hotels, wants comfort, visit and frequent places that are usually crowded, he wants to be served and have everything ready.
The traveler, on the other hand, stops where he feels the right energy because it is the place that calls the traveler; loves to look for food and accommodation in more traditional places, far from mass tourism, to truly immerse yourself in the place together with the local people, to converse, observe, smell.

Tourists want Italian/international food even on holiday, while the traveler wants to totally enter the local culture by trying the local dishes.

The tourist travels comfortably, from means of transport to suitcases where you carry the whole house just in case.
The traveler, on the other hand, uses local transport and carries a backpack containing just the essentials.

The tourist knows that his holidays are limited, they are a breath of fresh air to recharge, but then he returns to his comfort zone.
The traveler, on the other hand, does not want time limits, he wants to be able to travel as long as he feels the need, because he doesn't miss his routine, he knows that the world is out there and it is so big and varied that it is all to be discovered and experienced.

What do you do to make your travels more ecological?

I have been a vegetarian since the age of 5 years by my choice, for the great love towards all living beings.

Our fantastic planet and everything that makes it up is to be loved immensely, admire, to thank and above all to respect and protect and since I was a child I have had to fight to carry forward my choices and be accepted.

In my daily life, as well as in my travels, I try to carry out actions that do not harm the Earth: I don't eat animals of any kind, I use bamboo straws and toothbrushes, I don't use "disposable" products or cutlery, I fill my water bottle to avoid consuming too much plastic, I go shopping with a backpack or canvas bag, I try not to add unnecessary packaging when purchasing fruit and vegetables, I always carry out separate waste collection, I limit the use of water while washing the dishes and while taking a shower, I use ecological products for cleaning my body and home, preferring eco refills, I don't use air conditioning, I always turn off the light if not necessary, I prefer to travel on foot or by bicycle.

We must realize that we are only short-term guests on this fantastic planet and we must preserve it for ourselves and our posterity.
