WE SAW THAT YOU TRAVELED TO CHINA, WHAT AFFECTED YOU ABOUT THIS COUNTRY?
China is an immense and extremely diverse country. Having only three weeks available, we have chosen to touch a small part of the Celestial Empire, that is, the so-called Golden Triangle between Shanghai, Xian and Beijing. One of the aspects that struck us is its profound ambivalence: China is a highly industrialized country projected towards the future, but at the same time very rich in history and traditions that are still very much alive and visible. Ultra-modern skyscrapers next to ancient Buddhist temples in Shanghai, the forbidden city of Beijing squeezed between busy avenues: this double character is truly fascinating! Furthermore, we were amazed by the multitude of people around, rivers of people crowding the monuments, the streets and squares.
This population density and the physical contact that comes with it can be shocking to a Westerner. In the end, food: Chinese cuisine is extraordinary. We ate very well everywhere, both in restaurants and street food markets, dishes with surprising and always different flavors... absolutely nothing to do with our Chinese restaurants!
PHOTOGRAPHY IS ALWAYS PRESENT IN YOUR TRAVELS?
Photography is the means we use to bring home memories from our travels. Since we prefer to travel light we don't have the possibility of taking home the objects we find along the way, therefore the photos are to all intents and purposes our souvenirs.
We also always like to include social media in our articles (blog, Instagram and Facebook) photos taken by us capable of conveying to the reader the atmosphere we found on our travels. We take very few selfies, It is true (in fact it is not easy to find photos of us on our blog), because we prefer to portray natural landscapes, the urban ones and the people we meet. One of the photographic reports that gave us the most satisfaction was undoubtedly the one we did in Iran, entitled “Beyond the hijab”: contrary to what you might think, Iranians are sunny, intense and always available to be photographed!

In our travels we like to combine history and nature, so we often include some excursions in the itineraries we take. Last summer, for example, we went to Georgia and Azerbaijan and took the opportunity to go on several excursions in the beautiful and wild mountains of the Greater Caucasus.
In addition to the usual ones, but always fascinating, excursions to the Sibillini mountains in the Marche region, We are considering a trip to Kyrgyzstan this summer, in Central Asia: one of the least known countries in the world, but which is experiencing a phase of strong tourist expansion, which has truly uncontaminated nature with wonderful trekking opportunities.
What do you do to make your travels more ecological?
Even when travelling, as in our daily life, we try to minimize our impact on the environment. When we are out and about, if possible we try to take public transport, which also allow us to get in touch with the locals. We really love the train as a means of transport. For example, we remember with great pleasure the long train journeys in China, during which we finally managed to exchange a few words with some Chinese families, who broke the ice by approaching us with shyness and curiosity and offering us food.
