Thanks for giving me this opportunity, I am very happy to be here.
Enjoy Sahara was born from my need to maintain an umbilical cord with Morocco. In fact, after a first trip, occurred following a long period painful and unhappy for me, I felt the call and the need to intertwine my life with Morocco. That first trip for me was inexplicably magical, I forgiven myself, found and rediscovered.
I had the lighting and awareness of wanting to create a creature of mine, that the famous fixed place is not for me and I am deeply convinced that Morocco manages to bring out the best version of myself. It is my place in the world, The desert is the place that allows me to get naked, as if I saw me in a mirror and showed me who I really am, With strengths and weaknesses, the true essence of myself, without filters.
Said instead is my trusted collaborator, He was born in a nomadic family, He then drew in Merzouga, Village at the gates of the Sahara, where there is also our base. Finish schools, He started working in tourism, passionate about this work, Also telling his story and making available the great knowledge he has of his country.
Enjoy Sahara would not exist if there was no one of us two, We are complementary.
The tours you propose are fabulous, What is your favorite and why?
Thank you! Our tours can be revised and planned according to the needs and desires of each customer. The duration can be decided together, the itinerary and also the type of accommodation.
My favorite tour is without a shadow of a doubt what starts from Marrakech and arrives in Merzouga, passing from the high Atlas. As I often tell, For me that road has an extraordinary power, There is enclosed the deepest soul of this country.
We move from the beautiful frenzy of a city like Marrakech, to Berber villages and Kasbah perched in the red earth. There is a variety of incredible landscapes, with shades of colors of rare beauty. To then arrive in the Erg-Chebbi desert, part of the Sahara, which is of sand and rock, inhabited almost exclusively by Berberi, Some of them still nomads.
Berbers are the autochthonous people of Morocco, Before the arrival of the Arabs. I am an extraordinary people, Extremely generous and welcoming, but also strong and rooted to their traditions.
Covid has put to the test all the activities related to tourism. What is your experience, how you reacted and how do you see the future?
Covid has completely blocked us, One year we managed to hold it, But now it begins to be really hard, especially in a country where subsidies have not arrived.
I saw many guys leave, in the hope of finding a better future, along dangerous and difficult roads. We are trying not to lose hope and we worked hard to be able to start again. I also wanted to add two experiences to our project to be able to do in our village, and we'll: and cooking-Class e l'henna tatoo. They are both two activities that At the center they see the woman. In fact, both will be managed by two women of the village, with our presence.
I searched on the one hand that the traveler had the opportunity to get in touch with the female figure also, not always being easy and then I wanted to give them the opportunity to have a small economic independence.
Just following this thought during Lockdown, while I was in Merzouga, I created a small collection of three Berbera traditional products with the precious help of these women. It was highly appreciated, So I'm also giving life to a small e-commerce to sell these products and beyond.
Why did you decide to open your business instead of choosing a job as employed, and you would recommend to another woman, At a time like this, to make such a leap?
I believe that each of us should be free to choose, without getting stuck in patterns that society imposes us.
For many years I felt in the defect, wrong, stuck, A fish out of water because I could not want a fixed place and an indefinite period, Only thought took the air away from me.
When I understood and accepted that I wanted to have my business, that I wanted to be the head of myself, that in the days I would have worked 14 hours and days 0, I changed my life. I also believe that we must not be paralyzed by the fear of change, It is right to dialogue with fear, because it is normal that it exists.
I adopted this technique: I think about what is more afraid of me and in case this thing happens what Piano B could be, My parachute, At that point I launch.
You have to launch though, because the perfect moment most of the time does not exist and I believe that even in moments of great difficulty then the solution can be found, We have more strength than we believe.
As Easy Travel Hosting will know, use renewable and eco-sustainable energy to power your servers. A tree is also planted for each new hosting, actively helping the reforestation and absorption of CO2. What do you think of this project and in general, Do you think it is important to search for a more sustainable lifestyle?
Absolutely, beautiful idea! Ecco, This is something that terrifies me, The idea that mankind is destroying our beautiful planet, makes me feel helpless.
Only, There is one though, I can slow down this process with my daily actions and if we all commit ourselves to doing a little, perhaps there is still hope, or if nothing else is the only way to make us less responsible than what is happening.
I think everyone can start from something, even if small.
For example, in my village, especially a little outside, There is a problem with the disposal of waste and some products, like absorbent, they are not always available. So I moved on to the cup and the washable briefs.
When I go then I stock up on Italy of solid products. According to the desert, I also noticed how many superfluous things I had and therefore I'm not buying practically anything new, unless it is really necessary.
Before making a new purchase I wonder if I really need it.
Then, When I go shopping, I try to take me behind my fabric bag, To avoid plastic envelopes.
One thing I still have to work on is the use of bottled water, At home we use the water of the well, But unfortunately, For me it is not yet sure to drink it and therefore for now the compromise is the use of large water blockers.
